Padres Election 2019
Call for Nominations & Notice of Elections
Padres will hold a vote on October 18 to fill three positions on our Executive Committee: vice president, secretary, and community lead.
Running for office
If you are interested in running for a position, or would like to nominate someone to run, please fill out this form by Tuesday, October 8.
Padres will present information about the candidates to the community.
All members of the Leadership team meet every other week with Cook Campus principal Giselle Allen, joined by Dahlia Aguilar, Mundo’s Chief Schools Officer, and other staff members for some meetings. From the Padres bylaws, members have these further additional responsibilities:
- The Vice President presides over meetings when the President is absent, assists the Padres President in carrying out the duties of the office, assumes those duties should the President be unable to perform them, remains in contact with Mundo’s community of teachers to further Padres’ mission, and serves as an ex-officio member of all committees.
- The Secretary records and arranges for translation of minutes for both the Padres general and Executive Committee meetings; prepares the month’s minutes; maintains all correspondence in both English and Spanish; and remains in contact with Mundo’s community of teachers to further Padres’ mission.
- The Community Lead coordinates volunteer activities for Padres and or Mundo Verde-requested events; leads initiatives to support diversity at Padres; and remains in contact with Mundo’s community of teachers to further Padres’ mission.
Elections will take place on October 18. Elections will not happen at a meeting, but rather, parents will vote by putting a ballot in a box or online. Parents can vote in person on October 18, at the Cook campus from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the morning and afternoon at the Mount Pleasant and Capitol Hill bus stops, or online.
