Padres of Mundo Verde brings together all caregivers at the Cook Campus to support our school community. Padres fosters a sense of community through parent advocacy, support of educational programs, encouragement of volunteerism, and fundraising. Every caregiver with a child at Mundo Verde is automatically a member of Padres, and we invite everyone to take part in the activities and groups that make our community strong.
Padres organizes its work through committees and affinity groups, each led by a volunteer lead and open to an unlimited number of members. These groups provide opportunities for families to connect, share skills, and contribute to school life in ways that match their interests and availability.
The Padres Board partners closely with committees and affinity groups. We hold regular monthly check-ins, maintain a dedicated WhatsApp group for coordination, and host networking meetings to share updates, ideas, and resources across groups. All are welcome—whether you want to lead, participate, or simply learn more about the work Padres is doing to support our community.

These initiatives include but are not limited to: suggesting curriculum or professional development; advocating for support services for children who need certain accommodations or testing; working to expand out-of-school time programming access and options; advocating for Spanish immersion pathways beyond 5th grade; and building parents' capacity to support student learning through book fair engagement, STEM nights, Literacy Nights, and citywide Spanish Spelling Bee participation.

Events & Fundraising: Christina Scarlato & Megan Remo Join here.
The Events & Fundraising Committee brings our school community together while supporting the programs and experiences that make Mundo Verde special. This committee plans beloved community events such as Viva Viernes, Festival, and Fiesta, and leads fundraising efforts that directly benefit our students, families, and staff. Funds raised help provide for teacher appreciation initiatives, small-scale school capital projects, the 5th grade capstone trip, and other needs that strengthen our school community. Committee members collaborate on everything from event logistics and creative ideas to volunteer outreach and securing sponsorships, making a tangible impact on both the joy and sustainability of our school.
Inclusion & Affinity Groups: Volunteer Needed Join here.
